The high tunnel has undergone a drastic overhaul. We chose to temp fate and plant citrus trees in the high tunnel to see if we can be successful in north LA at lemons, satsumas and kumquats. The first 10 trees were planted a couple of months ago and one of the lemon trees has decided it is time to bloom! A little out of season but not uncommon for lemon trees which when presented with the right conditions will flower almost continuously. We don't hold out much hope for this particular flowering event to result in fruit set, but hopefully citrus will be coming soon!!
(The photo is before the high tunnel was planted in citrus. We'll get some photos of the citrus planting soon
Dylan and Harmony, whichever of us have the time to sit down and write for a few minutes. : )
