I know, I know....I'm getting ahead of myself.
But the good news is that today was the official start of the 2015 growing season!! Garlic went in the ground today!! We planted it in a new bed in North Dakota. While we were out there, I took the opportunity to discuss space with Harmony (and if you don't know about my farm relationship with my wife....she usually tells me that we have PLENTY of space and NO I don't need to break any more ground). Today was a rare day though. She gave me her blessing to make two more beds behind North Dakota!!!! This, from my perspective, is one of the best things to do (break new ground and eventually plant in it in the spring!). But I've gotten off on a tangent.
In addition to the garlic, we have Jerusalem artichokes on their way and honeyberries too (and yes, I had to order the honeyberries without Harmony knowing...!!) :)
Alas, I love my wife more than anything in the world!! But it is fun to give her a hard time. :)
Next time you see her at the market or farm store or CSA pickups, thank her for putting up with my crazy notions. But nonetheless, Happy 2015 Growing Season!!
And don't forget we are still growing for 2014!! Plenty of great stuff still in the farm store and at markets....and all of it can also be ordered online (see the "online ordering page"). Greens galore!!
See you soon.
Dylan and Harmony, whichever of us have the time to sit down and write for a few minutes. : )
