We have added signposts all over the farm today. These were for Dylan's birthday last year. The signs are completely random (to most people) but have significance to us.
North Dakota is the front garden fields. When Kade was very small, he would always say "where's dad?" Or " where's dad going?".....to which we would reply "North Dakota", due to a fascination Dylan had with the state. It stuck. We still say it. So now Dylan can go to North Dakota every day.
As most of you know, we lived in Madison, WI while Dylan attended grad school at UW. We made great memories there so it's only fitting to have it here on the farm in Ruston.
When we first moved here we decided to plant blueberries all over the hill behind the house. Plans have changed for that field, but the name stuck.
When Kade was little he also watched a Dora movie ALL the time....and in it they would say "where are we going?........blueberry hill". So ever since then, every time Kade says "where are we going?".....we say "blueberry hill". :) He hates it. We think its great.
I grew up in KY and we met in KY, were married in KY and had Kade in KY.....so it's a very special place for us.
This is the field behind the pond. It has been The Secret Field since the day we moved in. Kade wants to build a little house there someday.
We love randomness like these signs on the farm.
Dylan and Harmony, whichever of us have the time to sit down and write for a few minutes. : )
