If you've been following our blog posts you know that we have been having some risky nights in the past month or so!! We got an early start this year with warm weather plantings and things have been doing beautifully. Weather has been favorable (a little dry) for growing and things have been happy as clams. Last night though it got a little chilly (36 degrees). I woke up and went out to harvest for a farm pick-up and was devastated to see that we had gotten a pretty hard frost. Your mind starts reeling as you peruse the beds for damage.......what if we lose all the tomatoes, eggplants, beans, cucumbers, and squash that has been planted out? How far is this going to set us back?
It looks as though we squeaked through with minimal damage and will only lose a few plants here and there (some of our squash got toasted ). Lets hope this one is the last one!!!!
Keeping my fingers crossed!!!!
Dylan and Harmony, whichever of us have the time to sit down and write for a few minutes. : )
