Farm Store Grand Opening in Vassalboro, ME June 7th, 2014!
We are so excited about the farm store grand opening! We will be opening our doors to the Vassalboro and surrounding communities on Saturday, June 7th. Our store will offer fresh vegetables, eggs, melons, berries, handmade soaps and coming soon....local honey and yarn!! Come by for a self guided walking tour of the farm, take a stroll through the Kids' garden and meet your farmers! See you soon.

47 Daisies gets funding through the USDA Organic Initiative!!
We have received funding through the USDA Organic Initiative to add a high tunnel to our farm! This is exciting news and will take us closer to the goal of growing fresh, local, naturally grown produce year round. Check the volunteer page for opportunities to help us construct the high tunnel.
Research Project Starting Soon at 47 Daisies!
47 Daisies is currently working with Professor Thea
Edwards from Louisiana Tech’s Biology Department, to evaluate phytoestrogen
activity in the edamame soybeans grown at 47 Daisies farm. Check out the details of the project by clicking on the link below.
We have applied for funding to build a 30x96x12 ft high tunnel on our farm through the USDA Organic Initiative (administered through the NRCS). If everything goes well, we'll have the high tunnel built and ready to go by fall/winter of this year!

Welcome Home Basil!
Basil Lee Dillaway was born on Wednesday, October 20th, 2011. He weighed 7 lbs 15 oz and was 20 inches long. We have been home since Friday, and everything's going just fine so far!! Kade and Eilah have (for the most part) accepted the new little one, and now we're just trying to figure out how to do things while being outnumbered. :)

The practices we use are identical to the practices specified by the Certified Naturally Grown program, which is a grass roots alternative to the USDA Certified Organic Program.
